Simpson Motors is a proud family-run used car dealership in Dunfermline, Fife, now in its second generation. The business was established in 1980 by Raymond Simpson, who came from humble beginnings and built it from the ground up. Raymond's love for cars started early - originally trained as a panel beater in a car body repair shop, his true passion was motorsport. He competed in hill climb races with his beloved Hillman Imp before deciding to sell the race car to fund the start of Simpson Motors.

From the very beginning, Raymond combined his hands-on automotive skills with a dedication to customer service, growing the business from a small site just down the road from where we are today. As the business flourished, he moved to our current premises in Rumblingwell, Dunfermline, offering four times the space to showcase more of the high-quality used cars we're known for across Scotland.

Raymond's wife, Jill, worked alongside him from day one, handling the bookkeeping while raising their son, Bryan, and daughter, Diane. In 2006, at just 15 years old, Bryan joined the business, learning the trade side-by-side with his father and sharing the same passion for exceptional vehicles and genuine customer care. Today, Bryan runs Simpson Motors with those same values at heart - as one customer recently said, "friendly, professional, and no-pressure."

This truly is a family business. Bryan's wife, Claire, has now taken over Jill's role in the business, following in both of Bryan's parents' footsteps. The family recently welcomed a baby boy, Reginald Raymond James Simpson - his middle names honouring both his grandfather Raymond and great-grandfather James. Bryan and Claire hope that one day Reginald will follow in their footsteps and continue the Simpson Motors legacy for many years to come.

Bryan also has a strong interest in cars outside of work. He regularly hosts Cars & Coffee events at the showroom, attends similar gatherings, and loves taking long road trips - whether exploring the North of Scotland or driving across Europe, he's always looking for his next car-related journey. As many customer reviews note, Bryan is a true car enthusiast, and it shines through in his work - from the carefully selected cars in our showroom to the enthusiasm he brings when selling them.

Every vehicle we sell is handpicked, either purchased directly from the public or sourced through trusted trade contacts we've built relationships with over decades. Each one undergoes extensive history and mechanical checks before being offered for sale - with certificates available to any prospective buyer.
